INTRODUCTION TO GENIES, ELBOW GRIPS & BALLERINAS
Pole Technique: Level 2B is a Beginning Level Course focused on Genie, Elbow Grip (Upright) & Ballerina Tricks, Transitions and Combinations. This Course provides a step-by-step guide to mastering Pole Technique through weekly training exercises. Professional Track Dancers may submit a final Thesis Assignment to receive a Certificate of Completion in this Course.
Minimum Skill Level Recommended: All Training Tracks are designed for Beginning Level Pole Dancers (approximately 1-6 months prior experience). Professional Track Dancers should be comfortable inverting and climbing.
The Warm Up Routine prepares the body for Pole Training through a dynamic sequence of movements. This Lesson includes 3 routines designed to increase the heart rate, expand range of motion and improve body alignment. A proper Warm Up can also decrease muscle soreness and assist with injury prevention. The Warm Up Routine for Pole Technique is offered in all three Training Tracks.
Abs & Ass Drills are fitness-based workouts that strengthen the core and glutei muscles to support Pole Dance movement. Dancers are encouraged to incorporate strength training into each rehearsal as the development of these muscles also improves body control and alignment. The on-line Abs & Ass Drills for Pole Technique are offered in all three Training Tracks.
Pole Technique Level 2B focuses on Beginning Level Genie, Elbow Grip (Upright) & Ballerina Tricks and Transitions. Dancers learn various entrance and exit options for each Pole Trick and explore the unique ways they ascend, descend and interlock. Professional Track Dancers should be comfortable with inverts and climbs. A 4-Week Training Curriculum is included in all three tracks.
The Cool Down returns the body to a state of rest through movements that decrease in intensity. This Lesson includes a Cool Down sequence that Dancers are encouraged to integrate after each rehearsal to minimize muscle soreness and assist with injury prevention. Dancers can also incorporate a guided Positive Affirmation through our Spotify playlist catalogue. The Cool Down for Flexibility Training is offered in all three Training Tracks.
The 4-week Training Curriculum provides a step-by-step guide to achieve a mastery of the content of this Course. Ultimately, Dancers are encouraged to train at a preferred pace, progressing as the movement unlocks in the body. The Course culminates with a Creative Dance Exercise on how to create a Pole Combination and set it to music. Create new combos and repeat! The 4-Week Training Curriculum for this Course is included in all three Training Tracks.
Professional Track Dancers may submit a final Thesis Assignment to receive a Certificate of Completion in Pole Technique: Level 2B. Dancers perform a demonstration of the Thesis Assignment and submit it to CoHo University. Submissions are evaluated and feedback is provided directly to the Dancer until the Course is completed. I am interested in taking this course but I don't have any prior Pole Dance experience. Is this course right for me?
Pole Technique: Level 2B is designed for Beginning Level Dancers with approximately 1-6 months of prior Pole Dance experience. Professional Track Dancers should be able to comfortably invert and climb.
Do I have to own a pole to take a CoHo University course?
A pole is required for all CoHo U POLE TECHNIQUE and POLE CHOREOGRAPHY Courses. A pole is optional in all other Courses.
